The Five Principles

This is us; it's how we operate and it's non-negotiable.

Principle 01

Take the long view.

We invest in the people, infrastructure, and capabilities that compound over years. The best decisions for the business often hurt the quarter — we accept that trade.

Principle 02

Operate, don't observe.

We sit on boards, walk factory floors, and meet customers. Capital alone is a commodity; operational and leadership presence is not.

Principle 03

Respect the culture.

Owners spent decades building it. We don't dismantle culture for the sake of a playbook — we ask first what makes it work, and we earn the right to change anything before we try.

Principle 04

Be transparent.

Surprises are expensive — in deals, in operations, in everything. We tell owners, management, co-investors, and lenders what we actually think, including when the news is uncomfortable. We expect the same in return.

Principle 05

Bring the network.

Decades of relationships with operators, advisors, and lenders — applied to the specific problem the business actually has, not the one our portfolio dashboard wants us to solve.

A partner — not a counterparty.

Every principle resolves to the same point: we are good people and responsible stewards of capital and of companies.
