Our origin
A firm built in response to a gap.
We spent more than two decades at firms most people associate with private investment — big balance sheets, big committees, big buildings near Grand Central or on Park Avenue. GE Capital. Chilton Investment Company. Tenex Capital Management.
We saw the need for a different kind of firm: experienced operators and investors who would take the time, the energy, and the capital required to help a business through its next chapter — not just past closing.
And we noticed something: small founder and family-owned businesses were being underserved. They were too small to be interesting to the institutional buyers, and the buyers who would look at them often treated the transaction as a simple financial exercise — buy, optimize, flip.
